Originally from France, Gerard spent 10 years remodeling chic Paris apartments before coming to the United States just over 20 years ago. He began working with a Hayward contractor in 1987, then bought him out while keeping the company name and Hayward facility. He specializes in remodeling kitchens and baths for discerning East Bay clients, Gourmet Ghetto foodies, and parents at the French-American School where his 13-year-old daughter is a student.
“I’m like a family doctor,” he says, “Once people have worked with me and my crews, they always call us back to do their next project.
“We usually work on one or two jobs at a time, and I am present on every job. Our prices are very competitive, given the quality work and the level of service we provide. Before we start work, I meet extensively with the client, and discuss different ideas and design approaches.
“We go over every detail, point by point. That way I can order cabinets and other materials well in advance, and have everything on-site, so that we can complete your job as quickly as possible.
“I can take you shopping, suggest local resources and stores for you to visit, and show you catalogs that will help us define the look you’re going for. Once I have every construction item clearly specified, I can really make the project move quickly, and with a minimum of inconvenience for the homeowner.”
